My approach to feature writingThe stories that I have found readers connect with and respond to the most to are the ones that offer a new point of view on a specific person or event. Sometimes they are profiles, on subjects such as a boxer who passed away at a young age, or a first-person account of a monumental event. On other occasions, it is an analysis piece, looking at issues such as the risks involved with drafting football players from smaller colleges. No matter the story type, I try to approach each one the same, doing as much research as possible, connecting with every available source, gathering all the necessary information, and then putting together a piece the will catch the readers eye from the first word and keep them captivated until the very end.
